ScreenTimeGuard ("the app", "we") is a Screen Time management app for iPhone. This policy explains what information is handled when you use the app.
ScreenTimeGuard has no servers and no user accounts. Your app groups, schedules, unlock history, and settings are stored on your device, and none of it is transmitted to any server we operate or to any third party. The one exception is a backup of your setup saved to your own iCloud account, described in its own section below.
Specifically, the app stores the following in a private, encrypted iOS app group container shared only among ScreenTimeGuard's own extensions on your device:
So that reinstalling the app — or moving to a new iPhone — does not cost you your configuration, ScreenTimeGuard saves a copy of your app groups, schedules, and preferences to your own iCloud account, using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. This is the only information of yours that leaves your device.
It goes to Apple's iCloud under your own Apple Account and nowhere else. We cannot read it. It is not sent to us or to any third party, and there is no account, server, or dashboard on our side from which it could be viewed.
Deliberately left out of that copy: your unlock session history, emergency-unlock timestamps, insights, and diagnostics. Those stay on your device only.
Separately, your on-device data is also included in iCloud Backup and iTunes/Finder backups if you have those features enabled, because it resides in a standard iOS App Group container. We have no access to your backups.
ScreenTimeGuard uses Apple's Family Controls and ManagedSettings frameworks to block apps. These frameworks operate entirely within Apple's own Screen Time system on your device. We do not receive, store, or transmit any information about which specific apps you block or how long you use them.
If you have internet access, the app optionally fetches one quote per day from ZenQuotes (zenquotes.io) to display on the Today screen. This request contains no identifying information — only a standard HTTPS request to their public API. If the request fails or you are offline, a built-in fallback quote is shown instead. Please review ZenQuotes' own privacy policy for their data practices.
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, see, or store your payment information. Purchase status is verified on-device using Apple's StoreKit framework.
ScreenTimeGuard contains no third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising SDKs, or tracking libraries of any kind. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not share data with data brokers.
ScreenTimeGuard is intended for use by adults who want to manage their own screen time. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Deleting the app from your iPhone removes everything stored on the device: iOS deletes the app group container and all of its contents automatically.
The iCloud copy of your setup described above is not removed by deleting the app — that is exactly what lets a reinstall restore your groups and schedules. It remains in your own iCloud account until you turn off iCloud for ScreenTimeGuard in iOS Settings (under your Apple Account → iCloud), or sign out of iCloud on the device. We cannot delete it on your behalf, because we have no access to it.
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
